I think it is a shame that people will email you and tell you that they want to help you then ask that you email them at a private email address and then never answer you back. Yes I know there is no set rules that forces people to help you on here, but the people that post on here are mostly ones that need help, and when someone states that they want to help, they should at least let you know why they have changed their mind instead of letting you set there and wait. We sre from Hurricane Katrina, and I imagine tht there are other people here as bad off or worse than us, all i'm saying is we are here looking for help, if you can't that is fine, but don't say you want tohelp then just go away with out any answer back to them at least say sorry can't do it or let them know tht at the time you can't don't make them set waiting to hear back from you. Probably jsut a scam would hate to think they have found this place too when so many need real help

Hello i am from Louisiana, we lost everything we had in Hurricane katrina, but the sad part was that was the second time in a year. See in 2004 Hurricane Ivan pasted so close to the mouth of the river in lower Plaquemines Parish (located about 70 miles south of New Orleans) that it spun tornados off of the storm, one touched down onto my mobile home and competely ripped the roof off, that let the rain in for 2 days and then when the sun came out it mildewed everything that the water did not destory. We was paid a small sum from FEMA for our loses and we took that and bought new furniture and clothes and all that was needed and set up housekeeping in an apartment across the street. It was 11 months later that katrina hit. The apartment we lived in, we never found the first board from it. My husband stayed for the storm with a friend and they was trapped on the roof hanging on through the entire storm, his friend died. We have been relocated to Ohio where my family is, but we can't make it up here, we live on a fixed income of $700. a month and my electric bills this winter have run $300+, we want to go home but there is no money to go on. And no place to live because of them jacking the prices up so high for rent. So we thought we would relocate to a town called Breaux Bridge which is where hubby's family went to. But how do you go and find a place with nothing to go on. The bills have to be paid here in Ohio first and that leaves nothing for us for gas or to move on. My husband who is also disabled from his job in the oil field has never been out of Louisiana and he is so depressed. We set in this apartment after the first of the month when we go out and pay the bills and buy some groceries all month till the next month rolls around,, some times I think I will go out of my mind. We want to go home and we need help, we got a little bit around $10,000 for our loses in the apartment, we can't afford insurance, but we had to buy furniture and clothes and live on that up here. Is there any one that can help us, or anyway that we can get home. I can prove who I am and that we was a part of the Katrina Hurricane. I have the FEMA and SBA paper work and ID. Some one please give me some ideas as to how to make this work. We are so behind up here we won't ever get out.
